Hey guys! Had a really fun time with Alisyn and Matt. They were pretty freaking awesome and we hit it off right away. They were just so energetic and full of joy and happiness that capturing them on “film” was so easy. =) They travelled from Central-ish California to Capitola for their engagement session. The water, sand, waves brought them back to when they lived by the sea. We took pictures at some familiar locations and some new ones for me. Did you know Capitola had their own gondola??? I surely didn’t. =) Well on with the pictures.

We went on a weekday afternoon, so there wasn’t a mass crowd at the beach. We were able to take shots with angles that I’ve done before and some that I haven’t.

They decided they wanted to walk along the water. You can tell in one of the pictures that was water was typical NorCal ocean temperature (freezing).

Had a lot of fun with the pier. Totally helped that there was no one on the beach. =)

From the beach we walked to Shadowbrook Restaurant. It’s the restaurant with the gondola. We found a quaint little park and an old school Volvo on the way there.

Ah Shadowbrook. I totally didn’t know this restaurant was here. Totally didn’t know they had a gondola down to the restaurant. But makes for fun pictures. =D

Aren’t they just awesome together? All these pictures were taken with no direction from me. =D

This was an awesome wedding to be at. It was held at Andrew’s parent’s backyard in the hills. The environment was intimate: live band, organic catering, amazing California weather, beautiful Hawaiian florals. What more could you ask for? Here are the pictures!

Details, there were so many i couldn’t choose… you can tell by the number of ring shots:

Blog, it’s been a while. Joanna and Andrew are so cute together. They’re from Hawaii and were back in the bay visiting family when we got together to have this shoot. Both our schedules totally weren’t working together. But there was one day that we were able to have this shoot. It just so happened that this day was one of the prettiest days of the week. It was a pretty gloomy holiday week, full of overcast and rain. But it started clearing up the day before our shoot and in the morning of the shoot, the weather was perfect (albeit a little cold)! We first checked out downtown Palo Alto and then headed to Half Moon Bay for some shots. The light in both locations at that time was incredible! I couldn’t have felt more blessed by God that day. Awesome times! Well enough of me talking here are the pics:

Perfect lighting man. From both sides and enough to light up BOTH of their faces. awesomeness!

There was this lifesaver by the beach, we had TONS of fun with it. haha. =P

Man Melissa and Jim’s wedding was awesome. It was located in the hills south of Santa Cruz in a city called Soquel. Don’t know it? I didn’t either until that day. haha. After getting lost for a bit in windy, mountainous roads, my second and I finally made it (and only 10 minutes late!)

Man this wedding had so many things going for it, but I’m going to highlight two things.

One, candy bar. I’ve seen some candy bars at some weddings and they are freaking dinky. So dinky that usually only the first 50 people really get candy. Oh man when they unveiled the candy bar, it was RIDONKULOUS! So much candy! Everyone got what they wanted and however much they wanted and there was still leftovers at the end of the night. Man it was awesome.

Two, ho crap the ceremony was a tearjerker. I teared up, Hana (my second) teared up, lotsa people in the audience teared up. Totally cools! *tears* =)

On to the pictures!!

oh man I loved this stool…

Tufted leather stool = so many different photo opportunities! =)

H is for… Harvey! ehehe.

So there so many cute kids at the wedding!

omg cutest flower girl wagon pulled by ringbearer!

tearjerker, I told you!

CUTE KIDS!!!! =D

This is only half the awesome candy bar. HALF!

Dancing transcends the ages. =)
